The list of films that have really sparked my passion for cinema are endless, but few have inspired me to the degree that Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill Vol I has (an amateur film critic who loves Tarantino- how original), so it seemed apt to make it the topic of my
first film review.
The plot follows a vengeful widow (Uma Thurman) on a quest for retribution following the murder of her unborn child. Her target- an evil and powerful team of skilled assassins called the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad, of which she was once a member. Sounds easy enough right? Not only must she battle her enemies, but Beatrix faces endless
injustice in her pursuit, from paralysis to sexual assault. Yet determined and unforgiving, she persists, coming face to face with her assailants as the elusive Bill watches over her every move. Kill Bill Vol 1 is a plot driven by the desire for blood-thirsty revenge…and in this it certainly delivers.
